An Assistant Site Superintendent will work directly with Site Superintendent to assist with daily activities and maintain working conditions on the job site. The duties of the Assistant Site Superintendent will include:


Scheduling/ On Site coordination:
• Prepare weekly / monthly schedule with the Site Superintendent
• Inform all contractors of all deadlines
• Maintain progress on site as per schedule
• Plan, organize, direct and control daily operations on work site
• Assist with weekly site foreman meeting.
• Inform Site Superintendent of drawings and specification issues if those arise – in order to correct them

On site documentation:
• Assist with daily activities log
• Maintain the log on an ongoing basis, record any changes / omissions according to the direction of the Site Superintendent
• Inform Site Superintendent of all back charges
• Help with creation of as built drawings
• Maintain and organize all information coming from consultants [changes, site instructions], inform all trades of changes


Purchasing and Budget:
• Purchase of building materials where required, as per agreement with project manager and Site Superintendent
• Maintain spending on unit price costing as per generated project budget


• Make sure all work is conducted as per local safety requirements
• Communicate with trades about safety requirements that need to be fulfilled
• Coordinate resolution of site issues with the on-site health and safety representative and escalate problems to the management if required


Quality control:
• Review contractors work and create a deficiency list with appropriate backup documentation and pictures as required
• Make sure work is done as per construction drawings and specifications

Issue deficiency lists to the trades [project manager always to be informed] by email [also to be handed it out at the weekly site meetings]


• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma / Certificate in Construction / Engineering / Architecture or related discipline
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Assistant Site Superintendent Position or Minimum 5 years of experience in a related position
• Thorough knowledge of the Residential Construction industry, Ontario Building Code, Ontario Health and Safety Act
