Importance of Physical Distancing

Date: 08/04/2020 Location: 652 Princess St, Kingston and 60 Frederick St, Kitchener Hello All, First and foremost, we would like to thank you for the continued cooperation from all your site personnel and management.

As you may already know, physical distancing is one of the most important factors when it comes to stopping the spread of COVID-19 virus. The COVID-19 virus can be spread by the carrier by sneezing, coughing, talking or even merely breathing. The spread occurs when moist droplets are emitted in to the air, they can go up to 2 metres. Hence, it is important to keep a minimum distance of 2 metres from each other.

With the continued increase in the number of confirmed cases in Ontario, we strongly urge everyone attending our work site to practice physical distancing.

Following are the measures we are looking to implement on site to promote physical distancing and reducing contact:

-Avoid overcrowding of lunch rooms by practicing staggered breaks, relocating lunch tables etc. -Avoid face-to-face meetings on site, if absolute necessary please hold all meetings in an open well-ventilated area -Assigning work to personnel in different locations of the work site. Alter work procedures if necessary -Avoid passing each other in tight spaces / stairwells. Always wait and check the stairwell before using it. If someone is already using it, yield and let them go by first and maintain a distance of 2 metres at all times

I strongly believe that with the best practices and methods used on site we can ensure the health and safety of all our site crews, their families and the general public. If we work together, we can slow the spread successfully. Once again, I am thankful for your cooperation and efforts.

Sincerely, Hemant Thawani – Health and Safety Manager
